My hope for therapy is to create an active, collaborative relationship where clients define their goals for treatment and we work together using our individual and shared knowledge to find the best path forward. I emphasize open communication, mental and emotional flexibility, identities as strengths, and an orientation towards understanding processes rather than static “solutions”.

I focus on helping clients connect with their values, with the understanding that greater agreement between values and actions often leads to a greater sense of certainty, meaning, and quality of life. My work is grounded in the reality that our contexts (many of which we have not chosen) have an immeasurable impact on our lives.

I integrate frameworks and skills from multiple evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Community Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a strong emphasis on context, systems, and structural forces.

I specialize in working with adults seeking therapy for OCD, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, identity and values, and anxiety. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults. I offer several structured treatments, including Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.

In addition to my work at Evergreen Psychology, I also occasionally teach in the Departments of Psychology at Colby College and Bates College, see clients through Oasis Free Clinics and the Portland Community Free Clinic, and serve as a Member at Large on the Maine Psychological Association (MePA) Policy Council.

Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges Under the No Surprises Act

(HR133, Title 45 Section 149.610)

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of charges for billed medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. Upon request, your provider will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day before your medical service or item. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises
